Expands into Australia with Huon Aquaculture Project

Pure Salmon Technology has established a new office in Australia and secured a major project with Huon Aquaculture.

The company has established Pure Salmon Technology Australia and appointed Patrick Tigges as Managing Director. The new office marks an important step in the company’s international growth strategy. In addition, Huon Aquaculture selected Pure Salmon Technology for the next expansion phase of the Whale Point facility in Tasmania. The site is one of the world’s most advanced land-based aquaculture facilities Furthermore, the office strengthens Pure Salmon Technology’s commitment to the region. It also supports land-based aquaculture projects across Australia and nearby markets.

Whale Point Expansion in Tasmania

Huon Aquaculture selected Pure Salmon Technology to deliver Whale Point 2, the next stage of its smolt facility expansion. The plans also include a high-standard broodstock facility. Both projects will use the NJORD digital platform for automation, feeding control and maintenance support. Pure Salmon Technology developed NJORD to help operators monitor and manage fish farming facilities more efficiently. The platform gives operators real-time control of key systems and operational data.

The company plans to start construction at the end of 2025. The facility will begin operations in 2027.
