Making technology work in practice
The opportunity to work with technology for the future of food production was what first attracted Sumeng to Pure Salmon Technology in 2022. With a background in feed manufacturing technology, she was attracted by the chance to develop professionally while working on projects that support a growing and evolving industry.
As a Process Engineer, she enjoys the combination of technical work and collaboration across disciplines. “The role gives me the opportunity to work closely with process design, optimisation and collaboration across different disciplines. It is motivating to see how technical solutions can make a real difference in practice.”
One of the things she values most about Pure Salmon Technology is the working environment. “I experience the working environment as open, international and collaborative. There is a high level of competence across the organisation, while people are also helpful and solution-oriented. There is room to discuss ideas, challenge solutions and learn from each other.”
Looking ahead, she sees both opportunities and challenges for the aquaculture industry. “Aquaculture has many exciting opportunities through technology development. At the same time, the industry faces challenges related to biological risk, energy consumption and costs. I believe removal of particles in RAS will be an important focus area going forward. It has a significant impact on water quality, fish health, and stable operation. At the same time, there are many technological developments that can help address these challenges.“
Over the coming year, her goal is simple: “To contribute to successful project deliveries.”
