Passion for aquaculture and a curiosity to keep learning
As Head of Innovation no two days are the same. He works across disciplines, collaborates with colleagues throughout the company and helps develop new ideas and solutions. “I am a curious person and I quickly get bored by routine. In my role, I can work with multiple disciplines in the same day, meet new people, solve new challenges and collaborate with both industry and academia.”
After more than 30 years in aquaculture, Frederic is motivated by how quickly the industry continues to evolve. “Aquaculture is still a relatively young industry. The way we work today is completely different from just five years ago. We continue to challenge ourselves, develop new solutions and improve the way things are done.” Looking ahead, he believes innovation must go hand in hand with better use of resources and continuous improvement. “Digitalisation and the ability to turn data into knowledge will continue to be important. But so will reducing energy use, improving resource efficiency and embracing circular economy principles.”
One of the things he values most about Pure Salmon Technology is the culture of knowledge sharing. “The true value of Pure Salmon Technology is knowledge. People take pride in doing things properly, and we support each other by sharing experience and expertise.” For Frederic, innovation is not just about technology. It is about people working together to find better ways of doing things. “We are not afraid to challenge established practices and look for better solutions. That mindset is what makes the company an exciting place to work.”
